Voice
My word of intention for 2025 is 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚.
I chose 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 because I knew it would take me to the edge of discomfort and invite me to build beautiful things at that edge.
I chose 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 because I knew it would require that I hold myself accountable to sharing the resources I hold within.
I chose 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 because I knew that if I could hear myself 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬 my dreams and goals 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘥, then they would be far more likely to root themselves in reality.
But exploring 𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚 can be challenging, especially when it requires the shedding of old beliefs or false beliefs that diminish our voice’s power.
Elevating our voices invites us to confront limiting beliefs like:
🤔 Who cares what I have to say?
🤔 I don’t know the right words.
🤔 My message doesn’t matter.
Beliefs like these are not spoken by 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦, 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦. They are spoken by the voice of fear, doubt, and judgment, and they can significantly limit your leadership if left unexamined.
I’ve learned from exploring my own voice this year that when we recognize and make space to 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 that creep in, we can clear the way for our true voice to speak and to shine.
What’s true is this:
🪅 Your voice is unique and valuable.
🪅 Your experience and perspective matter greatly.
🪅 The world benefits when you share the goodness within you.
A special thank you to Eddie Aldrete, San Antonio Podcasting, and Peachtree Rose Marketing for their commitment to elevating the voices of our community through powerful storytelling.
Being a guest on the Beyond the Bite podcast this week allowed me to experience firsthand the team’s deep commitment to promoting powerful discourse and dialogue. I am grateful for this beautiful invitation to share my story and use my voice to support others in their leadership journey.
Our Beyond the Bite podcast episode airs on Tuesday, August 12, and I can’t wait to share it.
However you choose to elevate your voice, remember that the world needs what you have to say.
🎤 Pick up that mic.
📢 Pick up that megaphone.
🤳 Pick up that phone.
Let yourself hear your own wisdom. What may emerge first as a whisper will grow exponentially the more it hears its power.
